@@ESLTeacher365 It says the video was posted 3 months ago. I signed up to the TTA in Dec and ended up getting a 2-month extension due to health problems interfering with my dedication to the course. Long story, but I got 8 months access to the materials. And up until last week when I last week when I lost my access to the Level 5 course, it was true that you’re granted a total of 3 attempts for each assignment and the percentage to pass the end of unit quizzes was %70. There are companies that hire teachers without degrees, but you’ll want to make sure you are TEFL certified. Also, if you are not a native speaker, I recommend freelancing since many companies hire based on passport.

@@DMSoboful It depends on the exact software you are using, but there are issues with Zoom, for example. This can also happen to teachers who are using a laptop but their students are using Chromebooks, for example.

It depends on where and how you want to teach. To teach abroad, most countries require a bachelor’s degree in any subject and a TEFL. To teach online, there are places like Cambly that allow you to teach with just a TEFL.

@@thaerenglish84 All CELTA trainers have to go through training. It doesn't make a difference if they are a native speaker or not as it's a teaching training course and not an English course.

It’s usually fine. Some companies do require a headset though.

I looked at the Canva website and it appears to be a site that a rookie like me would go to in order to create a website were I to be setting up a website. I'm new to this field and I am exploring how to launch as an online teacher. I am currently doing the i-to-i tefl 420 hour course. You are being hired for your ability to teach English and in your case, your native accent, so it's not a requirement to speak the language. The only time this isn't true is if you are teaching in a bilingual program or school. That being said, it's beneficial for your day to day life to at least know the basics. I recommend getting a language partner or private tutor on Preply.

It will depend on the type of school you are at plus your experience and qualifications. There are some general figures available online on sites like GoAbroad and GoOverseas.

There was a law change in August 2021 which caused the major Chinese based companies to shut down. Some of those companies have changed where they are based or no longer serve Chinese students are are opening up again (aka VIPKid)

If you want to teach abroad, it isn’t accredited. It can only be used for online teaching.

You will want to have a high level of English before you do your TEFL course. Some courses require a B1, C1 or C2 level.

It depends! I taught with just my teaching license for 7 years until a school required me to get one. If you haven’t taught ESL before, I recommend getting one as the methods will be different than teaching the subject you’re certified in.
